C5+O.N.E. Instructor, Almaty
Learning Experience Designer at Almaty Children’s Science Museum

Joining the C5+O.N.E. Ed Program—an initiative sponsored and funded by the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek and implemented by World Learning in partnership with the Kazakhstan Teachers of English Association (KazTEA)—marked the beginning of a transformative chapter in my professional life. Looking back, it was more than just an educational course; it was the spark that redirected my career trajectory and expanded my world in ways I never imagined.
One of the most profound gifts of this program has been the sense of belonging within the C5 Countries community. There is something truly special about connecting with educators and leaders across Central Asia who share a common vision for the future of education. Through this network, I met a multitude of wonderful people and built deep, lasting friendships that transcend borders. This community provided a supportive space where we could exchange ideas, challenge our perspectives, and grow together.
The program served as a significant catalyst for my career. Shortly after participating, I secured a position with the American Councils for International Education in Kazakhstan as an ESP (English for Specific Purposes) instructor for Cohort 5. In this role, I had the privilege of working with exceptional professionals from a wide range of industries. It was incredibly rewarding to help them bridge the gap between their technical expertise and their communication goals, specifically by helping them develop and refine their entrepreneurship project ideas. The level of collaboration and the diversity of talent I encountered during this time were truly inspiring.
The momentum didn't stop there. Empowered by the tools and confidence I gained, I began conducting professional development courses for teachers in both foreign language and STEM fields. Seeing the impact of these sessions motivated me to go a step further: I started my own small community of practice group. We are a team of educators passionate about personalized, competency-based learning, working together to make education more student-centered and effective.
Today, as a Learning Experience Designer, I find myself drawing on these experiences every single day. I am actively integrating the global approaches and innovative techniques I learned into the design of world-class STEAM programs. My journey with the C5+O.N.E. Ed Program taught me that when you combine high-quality training with a powerful community, the potential for growth is limitless. I am so happy to be part of this family and excited to continue contributing to the educational landscape in Kazakhstan and beyond.
