Nuriya Oshurmamadova - Assistant teacher at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Dushanbe, Tajikistan

1. The “C5+O.N.E. Educator” program was very intensive. We studied from morning till afternoon with highly qualified instructors from around the world. As a result, I learned a lot of new teaching methods and techniques, including SMART objectives, CARE methods, and student-centered ways of teaching.
2. I will never forget our morning sessions named “Homeroom classes.” We all had the same level of English language skill and we got along just well. Also, I liked our trainers very much. They all were amazing and unique in some way. They shared their traditions and cultures with us in addition to their knowledge.
3. Prior to the program I thought that we were similar to our Central Asian colleagues before the program. However, the curriculum taught me a lot about our differences. For instance, our teaching methods, cultural and traditional practices, and life outlooks were all different. These all made it easy for us to share our experiences, broaden our horizons, and learn from each other.
4. I was somewhat of a traditional teacher before the training, and my classes were teacher-centered. Now, I am eager to put my skills to use in September and create interesting student-centered classes.
5. Personally, I developed my soft skills by connecting with a wide range of trainers and participants. I made friends from across the globe. Naturally, I also improved my professional skills.
6. I intend to provide my colleagues with professional development trainings. Moreover, I’m planning to apply the gained knowledge in my classes and at the discussion club I lead once a month.
