The C5 + O.N.E.(Opening Networks through English) Educator (C5 + O.N.E Ed)) program aims to create a cohort of highly qualified English language teachers who can teach English in the C5 + O.N.E., English Access Scholarship Program and other English learning programs initiated by the U.S. Embassy in 5 Central Asian countries
Goals of the program: To enhance participants’ teaching skills and English proficiency, and to nurture teacher professional development networks throughout Central Asia (C5).
The program covers 3 phases:
- January – April, 2025: online course on interactive English teaching
- July, 2025: intensive face-to-face training in Almaty (Kazakhstan)
- September, 2025 – March, 2026: distance mentoring and implementation of gained skills in own classroom setting

We recognize that many strong potential candidates have limited access to the internet or computers. Although online participation is required for this program, we take measures to make the online course accessible to people with limited access.
Eligibility information:
The following candidates are eligible to apply
- Citizens of one of the Central Asia countries or Kazakhstan
- Age: 22-40
- Degree: Bachelor minimum
- Teaching experience: 0-5 years
- Intend to return to and continue teaching in home C5 country after the workshop’s conclusion.
- Have a minimum B1 English level (verified through an online placement test, arranged for by the project).

- Describe your experience teaching English. (100-150 words)
- What experience do you have with online learning and with using technology for education?
- Describe the professional development activities you have engaged in beyond your university training.
- Explain how you know you will be able to participate fully in the intensive in-person workshops in July 2025.
