Robert Taylor is Country Director for the British Council in
Kazakhstan, leading initiatives in education, cultural relations, and English language development. With nearly three decades of experience in international education, Robert has played a pivotal role in teacher training, curriculum development, and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). His early career saw him managing corporate and specialist English programmes in Portugal and Russia, followed by leadership roles in English language centres across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
He has designed and implemented large-scale teacher development programmes and has been instrumental in strategic education reform initiatives, working closely with governments, universities, and professional teaching associations. A passionate advocate for professional development, Robert continues to support Kazakhstan’s English teaching community through partnerships and policy engagement.
He holds an MSc in Organisational Psychology and is a member of the British Psychological Society.
